Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL2 Backpacking and Camping Tent

Our Review:

Founded in Steamboat Springs, Colorado in 2001 and originally known for making sleeping bags with pad sleeves for your sleeping pad, Big Agnes has since expanded into many new product areas; most notable among them, tents.

Big Agnes tents include bestsellers like the Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL2, Big Agnes Fly Creek HV UL2, and Big Agnes Seedhouse SL2 tent designs.

They also make mtnGLO Tent and Camping Lights, camp furniture (producing the Big Six and Helinox camp chairs), and sleeping air pads (including the Big Agnes Air Core Ultra Sleeping Pad, Big Agnes Q-Core SLX Sleeping Pad, and Big Agnes Insulated AXL Air Sleeping Pad).

And have more experimental products like freestanding tents that can be built with trekking poles and a sleeping pad pump that doubles as a stuff sack.

While not quite The North Face or Sierra Designs (both around since the 1960s), Big Agnes product lines are a virtual wish list of camping gear for backpacking junkies.

And although Big Agnes makes many great products, the Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL2 Backpacking and Camping Tent takes the cake in our opinion. It's ideal for long hikes and those looking to shave a few ounces / pounds off their pack. With a trail weight of only 2.3 lbs., this is Big Agnes' lightest two-door backpacking tent and a solid choice for most people. While the price is steep and there have been reports of the thin design not standing up to extreme elements, this tent is perfect for the solo hiker who wants a little extra room and will not be using the tent to camp in high-wind (or otherwise extremely adverse) conditions.
