Big Agnes mtnGLO LED Tent & Camping Lights

Our Review

OK, we admit... as tent lights these are very unnecessary.

And if you take them into the backcountry, you're definitely going to get a few looks.

But who cares, right?

The new version has two settings: ON and STROBE. So you can get your party on while out in the backcountry.

These LED tent lights replace older LED string lights and LED lanterns for your camping tent and while they're not rechargeable (AAA-battery powered) you can power them with a USB charger.

You should still take your headlamp as these are not intended to be a primary light source for your tent lighting, but they do put off a nice glow and will set a better ambiance than your standard LED lights or LED camping lantern. (See our article here for a nice hack on that.)

Probably better for backyard use as a camping light for the kids (if you want to be a real hero, surprise them with these for nightlights), but for those bold souls who want to add a little flair to their camping trip, these LED bulbs are for you.

If you're looking for something a bit more practical, you might try the MPOWERD Luci Inflatable Solar Lantern which has a run time of 12 hours when charged for 7 hours in direct sunlight.

The ultra-bright light bulbs are durable, the lantern weights only 4.4 ounces, and this solar light is not only water resistant but fully waterproof and submersible.

It would be difficult to find better camp lights for backpacking from a practical perspective and while the mtnGLO LED light might be something you put on your wishlist for outdoor camping, the Luci camping tent light and light lantern is a more practical alternative and a bestseller for good reason.

If you want a little excitement, go with the mtnGLO. If you're practical Pete who isn't looking to party, checkout the Luci.
